We
invite Dakota ACAC members to submit nominations for either of the two awards
established by the Dakota ACAC Board of Directors. Persons interested in
nominating someone should complete the nomination form
for the Award of Excellence or Friend to DACAC
and send it to the Dakota ACAC office. Or, complete the nomination proposal for
the Human Relations
Champion Award and return it to the Human Relations Chair. Awards will be presented at the
annual conference.
Award of Excellence
The
Dakota ACAC award of Excellence will be given to a Dakota ACAC member who has
shown an outstanding contribution to the overall development of students, has
shown significant achievement in the area of college admissions counseling at
either the secondary or post-secondary level, and has been involved in Dakota
ACAC.
Friend
of Dakota ACAC Award
This
award is for either a member or non-member of Dakota ACAC, who has made a
significant contribution to Dakota ACAC.
Dakota ACAC Human Relations Champion Award
These award(s) may be presented to one DACAC member in SD & one in ND who
reflect the values of DACAC Human Relations:
A DACAC champion is one who
promotes awareness and sensitivity to the issues of culture, human rights,
gender, age and other differences. A Champion also advocates for and heightens
awareness and respect for differences while fostering and supporting a culture
of respect and care.
