The South Dakota Council of Dakota ACAC was originally established as the South Dakota Post-High School Coordinating Council in 1970.  It's purpose at the time was to coordinate the college fairs for the various high schools in South Dakota.  Through the years, it has added numerous programs aimed at promoting informed decision making by high school students making plans for life after high school.  The council's programs now include regional school counselor workshops conducted each fall, an annual survey of high school juniors concerning college planning, publications exploring "Educational Opportunities in South Dakota" and other projects.

An updated list of 2010-11 South Dakota high school counselor contacts, visitation policies and school holidays can be downloaded.  A directory of South Dakota High School Counselors is also available.  And, Fall, 2008, enrollment numbers for the SD High Schools are also available.

Planning Days Travel Information:  A list of motels by city can be found at the SD Innkeepers Association site.  Also, a partial list of maps to some of the previous planning day sites can be downloaded in pdf format for Week 1 (Northern  SD), Week 2 (Southeast and Central SD),  and Week 3 (Western SD).  Note below that jpg versions of each site map can be downloaded from the SD College Days page, in case you wish to print a larger copy.
